Ashwood Chadstone Gateway Project

3-5 Station Ave, McKinnon

Following successful purchase of the site from Glen Eira Council PPHA has approval to redevelop the existing site for community housing and a residential care building in partnership with the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The southern part of the site will contain apartments to be used as community housing for older persons and the northern section of the site will house six high needs residents and Multiple Sclerosis Society staff facilities. The units will be a three-storey apartment style building, inclusive of lift access, private and communal open space, a basement area for resident storage as well as car parking located centrally within the development. The completed project will provide for 28 new fully accessible independent living units, including 18 one bedroom apartments, seven one bedroom apartments with a study area and three two bedroom apartments.

49 Vale Street, St Kilda

PPHA purchased the site at auction in 2008.  Situated close to public transport and other local amenities, the homes will provide independent living for singles and families. The proposed development comprises town house and apartment-style dwellings with lift access to the apartments, and residents will be provided with a basement car park, as well areas of both private and communal open space. The completed project will
provide 42 units; including 22 one bedroom apartments, 18 two bedroom apartments and two three bedroom town houses.

87 Chapel St, St Kilda

PPHA purchased land at 87 Chapel St following a mortgagee auction and subsequent negotiation with the vendors. The land is a large vacant site in St Kilda where PPHA proposes construction of a four-storey apartment style development, inclusive of lift access, private and communal open space, as well as a basement area for car parking. The completed project will provide 81 new independent living units, including 47 one-bedroom apartments, 31 two-bedroom apartments and 3 three bedroom apartments.

Balaclava Station, Balaclava 

The proposed project will involve the construction of 53 apartments plus 5 terrace houses for private sale. This site adjoins Balaclava Station and is located within the Carlisle Street Activity Centre, a major activity center defined under the Melbourne 2030 Strategy. As part of a master plan for the precinct, Council has also proposed the redevelopment of Balaclava Walk and Balaclava Train Station.
